Visitors' Car Admissions to Campus
Comment - There aren't enough licensed people around campus to streamline visitors' car permissions to campus.
Answer - Each PI has automatic permission to admit car visitors to the campus. In addition, every faculty harbores approximately 16 people with permissions to admit visitors to campus. Security considerations do not allow extending this list.
Car Permits
Comment - The main campus gate ('Nosh') includes 3 entrance lanes. Visitors should be directed to the outer left lane, alas the sign that specifies that this lane is for visitors-only is too small and located at the bottom of the gate's road block, so when there are 2 vehicles in a line, the driver cannot see the sign.
Answer - All the lanes' signs stand out.
Receiving Car Permit Stickers
Comment - Recently we have been asked to apply in person at the relevant car permit stickers' desk in the Churchill building to collect our car stickers.
Comment - In the past, we received our car permit stickers via the campus' internal physical mail. Today we must physically approach the relevant office in the Churchill building.
Answer - Sending the car permit stickers via the campus' internal mail ceased due to security breaches. To facilitate campus employees, the Security and Emergency Unit has initiated this year a process by which the office for the car permit stickers will physically arrive at each faculty for entire days, enabling swapping of the car stickers then.
Campus Events
Comment - On each campus event the organizer is required to receive guidelines from both the Security and Emergency Unit and the Safety Unit. This process, entailing several stakeholders, is very cumbersome, thereby it doesn't always end on time before one can prepare oneself accordingly to the event in terms of all the guidelines the event's organizer must adhere to.
Answer - Precisely because of this comment both the Safety and the Security and Emergency Units have cooperatively devised an Event Form. In this form the organizer must specify the event's characteristics and the operational units are obliged to reply and send relevant safety and ushers' number guidelines in a matter of numerous days.
